Hi, I’m Chukwuemeka Aligbe, but my friends call me “Chuck.” Welcome to my website. I am a designer of digital, visual, and physical experiences based in Atlanta, Georgia. Whether it is a mobile app, logo, website, mixed-reality experience, branded exhibit, or a table: if you can think it, I can design it. I have almost two decades of experience in user experience design, visual design, graphic design, interface design, architecture, and product design. I am also an amateur programmer, data scientist, and computer scientist. My design philosophy emphasizes simple and functional design that helps people in their daily lives. What do I do for work now?

I work as a Senior UX Designer at VML (formerly known as Wunderman Thompson).

What am I working on now?

I just released Tempus Dash v2.0, featuring a full rewrite of the Python scripts powering the dashboard, new Tempus apps, and an updated web interface. Please check it out and let me know what you think!

What am I reading now?

Thanks to my Xteink X4 eReader, I am on a tear reading books. I just finished reading Then They Came for Me by Maziar Bahari. The book details his arrest, imprisonment, and eventual release in Iran after the 2009 presidential election. The memoir, also turned into the movie “Rosewater”, was a gripping tale of his survival and fortitude in the face of dire circumstances.

Now I am reading Marshall McLuhan’s The Gutenberg Galaxy. It is a treatise exploring the social, political, and technological impacts of writing, the alphabet, and telecommuncations on human beings now living the “global village” of our electronic age.

What am I listening to now?

Inspired by my love of Ghost in the Shell, I am listening to the newest album by Cornelius REFRACTIONS. One of the godfathers of the Japanese pop music style Shibuya-Kei, he created the soundtrack for Ghost in the Shell: Arise. REFRACTIONS is a new collection of tracks that fuses old school sounds with modern electronic elements.
